Pastor: Dr. Henry Wolmarans
After graduating from the inaugural 1980 class of Rhema Bible School in Johannesburg, South Africa Henry Wolmarans founded the Word of Faith Church in Welkom, South Africa. Welkom is well situated in the heart of the gold mining region where hundreds of thousands of migrant workers come from all over Africa to work. This was “a gold mine” for missions. In only 9 years 7,500 people were saved, baptised & filled with the Holy Spirit and 650 graduated from our Bible School. Upon returning to their countries 27 went into the full time ministry 16 started their own bible schools. One of our church plants in Cape Town, grew to 15,000 people starting over 20 new churches and bible schools on college campuses throughout South Africa. Another church plant in Maseru, Lesotho planted 7 more churches and a day school teaching and feeding 800 African students daily. The Ark was a work that started in Welkom with one of our graduates and ended up in Durban housing & feeding 1000 street people daily. They in turn planted another 30 Arks through South Africa.
In 1990 he handed the church over to his assistant pastors and elders and immigrated to the United States with his family to start a new church Harvest for Christ and Bible College in San Diego, California. The church grew rapidly to 650 members in Ranch Bernardo, San Diego , CA.

In 1996 he received a DMin from the School of Bible Theology in San Jacinto, California and in 2001 he graduated with a PhD from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida.
In April 1999 his wife Jackie suffered a devastating stroke that destroyed the left hemisphere of her brain leaving her blind, mute and paralyzed on her right side. She was confined to a wheelchair. Pastor Henry retired to become his wife’s caretaker. Jackie has had a miraculous recovery so that she now walks with the aid of a cane, her sight has been restored to 82% of normal and her speech has returned to 75% of normal.
He has authored six books and in 2004 "Your Rights to Riches" won first place as the best personal self help book on finances in both Christian and secular fields by the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association. In 2007 he published his newest book "Yes, You Can ... Achieve Your Dreams".
Dr Wolmarans has been fortunate to receive personal endorsements from Dr Oral Roberts, Dr Pat Robinson, Dr Robert Schuller, T.L Osborne, Peter Daniels and many other high profile ministries.
In January 2009 Dr Henry came out of retirement by instruction of Jesus the head of the Church to plant a new work “The Promise” in San Marcos, San Diego, CA.
Youth & Young Adults Pastors: Bryan & Mary Seshun
Bryan and Mary met in college in San Diego. Around the same time they fell in love they also found lasting love in Jesus Christ. Their lives have forever been changed. Bryan and Mary were married and graduated from Harvest Bible Training Center and have been working with young people ever since. They have a passion to give young people hope and an understanding that young people have a divine purpose in life to make a divine difference in their world. Bryan and Mary will tell you, " Having experienced our share of struggles we know that the challenges young people face today are very real. Young people want real answers that will provide real solutions. There's the counterfeit answer that furthers agony and there's the real truth solution that sets us free." Bryan and Mary envision a culture of young people who will stand up for what is right, leading and letting their voice be heard as they reach out to rescue their generation through the truth, power and hope found in Jesus Christ. Bryan and Mary invite you to join them and the Nexus youth and young adult ministry of The Promise as they set out on a voyage to reach, rescue and raise a young generation.
Worship Pastors: Paul & Kathy Brown
Paul and Kathy have been involved in music since their childhood. Paul played guitar in a high school band and Kathy, whose dad was a Navy Chaplain and mother a choir director, sang and played guitar in a church youth band and also in the choir.
After they met and married in 1981, Paul began playing in professional bands and Kathy continued to sing in the church.
In 1990 during a season of fervently seeking the Lord together, they were led to Harvest for Christ where they first met Pastor Henry and Jackie and were filled with the Holy Ghost. They joined the music ministry at HFC and eventually Paul was ordained as the Worship Pastor there. Kathy led worship and helped him with the administration of the music. They contnued at HFC until 1999.
10 years later, they are excited to be working with Pastor Henry and Jackie again to train up a new generation of worshipers and work with the team to create an atmosphere of worship, where God is glorified and His ways are made known to His Church.
Kids Pastors: Brandon & Michelle Winslow

Brandon and Michelle have been led by the Spirit of God for over 19 years serving in various leadership positions in children's church ministry. The innate desire to share the promises of God with children resonates in both of them, and they value their teamwork as a couple. They feel it's a privilege to contribute to the development and progress of God's chosen generation in collaboration with parents, and they believe that each child has a unique plan for his/her life.
Brandon and Michelle have been married for 23 years, and have raised three children, Brittany, Kelsey, and Cale. They look forward to meeting you and investing in the promises of God along side your family in unity as the body of Christ.
